Inside Sales Person for Apparel & Accessories Mfr.

Leslie Jordan, Inc. is a Portland based apparel manufacturer selling to endurance events across the U.S. and we’re looking to grow our sales department with a dedicated people-person who is organized, pro-active and thorough.
In this versatile role you will be responsible for nurturing existing customer relationships, producing accurate sales orders and managing the order’s schedule from inception through delivery. You will work with one of our sales managers and with other departments who develop, produce and ship the product. It’s exciting to see the product come to life and our customers appreciate the strong customer service we are known for.
Main responsibilities include:
- Daily correspondence with customers helping them turn ideas into product
- Write sales orders in Excel. Prepare return authorizations, order summaries & more
- Prepare promotional sample sends and recommend new products to customers
- Coordinate art direction with our graphics dept.
- Provide accurate product details to factory liaisons
- Maintain schedule of rotating timelines & prompts for upcoming events
- Communicate order information to accounting & warehouse
- Contribute to marketing needs
- Documentation of customer information, product quotes & timelines, & meeting notes
- Sample room and general department organization
You also seek out new accounts by researching nationwide events, contacting sources, and sending out promotional samples. We travel to industry trade conferences where you’ll meet up with your customers and solicit new ones.
Qualifications & skills:
- 5 years of experience working with customers
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel and able to learn new software
- Accuracy with numbers & high attention to detail
- Strong time management skills & ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment
- Ability to problem solve, assess client needs and negotiate
- Be a cooperative team player with high work ethics and a positive attitude
Ideal candidates will also have some understanding or experience of either: apparel manufacturing, the ASI Industry, screen and sublimation printing, commercial embroidery, in-depth knowledge of active wear apparel from retail sales. Previous experience working at booths at trade shows is also valuable.
Learning all aspects of this position with our sales team, our artists and factory liaisons takes a long time, but is the groundwork for advancing into your own sales accounts.
This is an in-office, FT position located in NW Portland, OR. Occasional evening or weekend time may occur for urgent deadlines.
