PFI offers what few other schools offer: Apparel courses taught by apparel professionals. Our 24 contract instructors come from every sector in the apparel industry from large corporations to independent design.
PFI is located in the Hollywood District of NE Portland, Oregon. We are close to shopping, bistros, farmers markets, homes and one of Portland’s largest libraries. POSITION OVERVIEW
Portland Fashion Supply is currently seeking a sales associate and acting store ambassador. Portland Fashion Supply (PFS) was first born out of the need for the Portland Fashion Institute’s supply needs. PFS employees hold a unique position; as ambassadors, we are the bridge between the students and community to provide quality products for their designs. A curious mind, avid interest, and upkeep of our company’s brand knowledge and values are central to excelling in our work. Our history serves to inspire and excite those around us. JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a part time position working towards providing a reliable and welcoming space for our customers to shop and find what they need.
Duties include:
- Having a passion for apparel sewing. Knowledge of textiles preferred.
- Store opening and/or closing.
- Meeting store sales objectives.
- Working on the floor: completing sales transactions, providing hospitable interactions, and restocking and tidying as needed.
- Building and maintaining a customer database.
- Open and clear communication with coworkers and manager. Notifying the manager of low stock and customer feedback.
- Visual merchandising.
- Maintaining PFS’ social media in line with PFS’ and PFI’s brand image. Including but not limited to making posts, interacting with users, and tagging pictures to sell products. QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior retail apparel sales experience.
- Excellent customer service, organization, and communication skills.
- Enjoys helping customers and can coordinate well with others.
- Basiccomputer/POS systems skills.
- Skilled with social media.
- Able to work a flexible schedule and be punctual.
COMPENSATION
$15.45
HOURS
M-F 9:30 am-6:30 pm, Sat 9:30 am- 2:30 pm
