An introduction to textiles that provides a broad view of the types, development, production and use of fabrics and the impact they have on design and construction. The characteristics of different fibers, yarns, fabrics, and finishes are investigated.

Supply list: Purchase "JJ Pizzuto’s Fabric Science and Fabric Science Swatch Kit" (~$100) new from Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Powell's Books. Also bring to the first class is a pen/pencil and a notepad.  A laptop or tablet will help you in your research.  The instructor will suggest other supplies to bring throughout the class.
